AC Milan secured all three points against Dudelange in their Europa League opener on Thursday night, with Gonzalo Higuain scoring the only goal of the encounter.
In truth, we were poor for the most part as aside from struggling to create clear-cut opportunities, we often struggled to maintain a sense of control over the game.

With that in mind, there is still plenty of room for improvement moving forward, but the main positive is that we came away from the game with all three points secured.
After his crucial equaliser against Cagliari at the weekend, Higuain was on the mark again after a nice pass from Jose Mauri found Samu Castillejo on the right side before the Spaniard picked out his teammate perfectly.
The Argentine forward did the rest as his effort took a deflection on its way into the back of the net, but he wouldn’t have complained as he’s now got two in two.
With Atalanta ahead on Sunday though, Milan will have to perform much better. From the team that we saw against Napoli for 55 minutes and in the win over Roma to this, there has certainly been a drop off over the international break and much more is expected in the coming weeks.
