If there is one area that remains a priority for AC Milan, it is the midfield. Speculation has suggested that both Marco Verratti and Lucas Paqueta are on our transfer radar.
Gennaro Gattuso has already begun to heavily rely on his preferred trio of Giacomo Bonaventura, Lucas Biglia and Franck Kessie so far this season, with minimal quality available in his reserve options.

Andrea Bertolacci was poor against Dudelange, while Jose Mauri fared slightly better. Along with Riccardo Montolivo, that isn’t a list of midfielders that instils a great deal of confidence to suggest that we’re capable of competing at the highest level on multiple fronts moving forward.
With that in mind, the midfield must be a priority next year, and according to Calciomercato, Paris Saint-Germain ace Marco Verratti could potentially consider a return to Italy, with Milan specifically mentioned as a potential destination.
The 25-year-old has disappointed for club and country in more recent times, but given the quality he can offer in a deeper role with his vision, passing range and technical class, it could be an excellent addition. Nevertheless, the report adds that a move away from PSG remains unlikely for now.
Meanwhile, Milan continue to be paired with a move for Paqueta, who has undoubtedly impressed for Flamengo and has earned rave reviews with his form in his homeland.
As per Calciomercato, Man Utd and Barcelona are also keen on the 21-year-old starlet who is said to have a €50m release clause in his current contract, and so it remains to be seen who wins the race for his signature.
With six goals and four assists in 28 appearances this season, the Brazilian international could be exactly the type of player Milan need to add creative quality to the midfield in a more attacking role.
