Confirmed Milan squad vs Juventus: Higuain travels for Supercoppa clash

Milan have announced our 24-man squad for the Supercoppa clash with Juventus in Jeddah next Wednesday, and Gonzalo Higuain has travelled.

The Rossoneri wasted little time in flying out as they made immediate arrangements following our win over Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia on Saturday night.

In turn, that should give them plenty of time to acclimatise and prepare for the showdown with the Bianconeri as we look to upset the odds and claim an important piece of silverware this season.

With that in mind, the focus was on who would be travelling as part of the squad, and as seen in the club’s tweet below, it is as close to full strength as possible.

As noted by MilanNews.it, Gennaro Gattuso raised doubts over Higuain’s future with us in his post-match comments, but the 31-year-old has travelled with his teammates and so a decision over his future is seemingly on hold until after the meeting with Juve.

Elsewhere, Lucas Paqueta is included after impressing on his debut, although there is no Suso who is suspended while also nursing a groin problem. In addition, long-term absentees Mattia Caldara and Lucas Biglia remain sidelined.

While it wasn’t a convincing win over Sampdoria, the quality shown in extra time and the morale boost that the win should have provided will certainly have lifted spirits for what promises to be an intriguing encounter with Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

With the focus still on securing a top four finish in Serie A this season to book a return to the Champions League, winning in Jeddah could be the confidence boost needed to ensure we enjoy a successful second half to the campaign.
