AC Milan transfer news: Real Madrid could green light Luka Jovic loan exit

AC Milan have reportedly been handed a boost as Real Madrid are said to be open to a possible loan exit for Luka Jovic amid transfer speculation linking him with a move to join us.

The 22-year-old has endured a difficult debut campaign at the Bernabeu as he’s managed just two goals and two assists in 24 appearances so far this season and is currently sidelined by an injury as La Liga looks set to resume next month.

That follows on from an impressive stint with Eintracht Frankfurt which ultimately earned him the move to Madrid, and that is where he arguably showed his real potential with 36 goals and nine assists in 75 appearances.

It remains to be seen if he gets a second season to prove his worth to Zinedine Zidane, but MilanNews report, via the paper edition of Corriere dello Sport, that he could be allowed to move on loan this summer as the Rossoneri have been linked with a swoop.

It’s added his agent could favour such a solution while Jovic would have the chance to link up with Ante Rebic again and could be considered a good fit for Ralf Rangnick should he arrive this summer, but time will tell if the move materialises.

While it could be argued that he would be an important addition to offer more firepower to a Milan side which has scored just 28 goals in 26 league games so far this season to give us the the joint-fourth worst attack in Serie A, unless there is an option to buy included we would essentially be looking at a short-term fix in a deal that suits Real Madrid.

With that in mind, the details of such an agreement are important, and with concern over Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury setback this week coupled with a lack of quality and depth up front with the pressure now on Rafael Leao to deliver if the season restarts, Milan certainly need to address the issue in the summer.
