AC Milan transfer news: Depay, Szoboszlai, Bakayoko, Jovic & Thiago Silva return?

Part two of Tuesday’s transfer round-up sees us linked with a whole host of names as Milan consider their options on how to strengthen this summer.

It’s a difficult time to predict what might happen ahead of next season, as ultimately all roads could lead through Ralf Rangnick, although we’re not even sure of that yet as we await official confirmation one way or the other if he’s arriving.

That hasn’t stopped the rumour mill though, with a number of names being paired with a switch to join us this summer.

As noted by Calciomercato, Memphis Depay continues to consider an exit from Lyon and with his current contract set to expire in 2021, he has been linked with a move to Milan who are said to have been in ongoing talks with the Dutchman.

It’s added that his price-tag stands at €30m, but given he’s only got 12 months to run on his deal, that is surely a price that few will be willing to pay and so time will tell if a compromise is reached.

Meanwhile, MilanNews note, via Sportmediaset, that the Rossoneri are keen to bring Tiemoue Bakayoko back to the club but it may well be on another loan deal from Chelsea.

After an impressive stint with us last season, it’s not a surprise that a reunion continues to be touted, but it remains to be seen if it’s a viable option this summer or if other targets will be prioritised.

Elsewhere, Calciomercato report that Milan have the approval of Dominik Szoboszlai over a move but must still find an agreement with RB Salzburg, who are demanding between €20m and €25m for the 19-year-old.

A top talent with a bright future ahead of him, but is that valuation enough to force us to look elsewhere?

It’s also suggested that Luka Jovic could be facing the axe from Real Madrid as they have lost patience with him in what has been a disastrous debut campaign at the Bernabeu. Milan are specifically noted as an interested party by Calciomercato, and so time will tell if he is given the go ahead to move on after just one season in Spain.

There might be another familiar face targeted too as Calciomercato report that Thiago Silva is set to leave PSG in August, with Milan and Everton said to be interested in landing the 35-year-old’s signature when his contract expires.

Putting the great memories from his previous stint with us aside, would it make sense in the here and now to re-sign the ageing stalwart?
