When Lucas Paqueta could make his AC Milan debut

After being officially unveiled by Milan on Tuesday, Lucas Paqueta will now hope to be considered a key part of Gennaro Gattuso’s plans as soon as possible.

As previously noted by Sky Sport Italia, it has been suggested that the Rossoneri have splashed out €35m on the 21-year-old and evidently believe his quality can make the difference both in the short term and long term future.

Having spent time at Milanello in December, he has been busy training with his new teammates this week and is seemingly edging closer towards convincing Gattuso to hand him his debut.

The Brazilian international will need to be ready from both a physical and mental standpoint, as there is no real need to rush him into action before he has fully settled and is comfortable with his teammates while being able to play significant minutes.

As per Calciomercato though, it’s suggested that Gattuso could consider giving him his debut against Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia this weekend, wasting no time in giving us a chance to see what he can offer the team.

Paqueta himself sounded confident that he was ready and was at the disposal of his new boss in his press conference on Tuesday, and so time will tell whether or not we will get our first glimpse of him on Saturday evening.

It seems like the sensible decision in truth as the pressure will be off given it’s the Coppa Italia, while in contrast involving him in the Super Cup encounter with Juventus in Jeddah next Wednesday doesn’t seem like a smart move in terms of trying to ease him into action.

Perhaps the trip to face Genoa in Serie A on January 21 will be the alternative option but it may not be long before Paqueta makes his first appearance as a Milan player.
